COURSE-EPISODE INFORMATION
Episode 2: ECCD Programs and Service Providers
- General Course-Episode Objective/s:
This course-episode exclusively bring into focus the different ECCD programs, various service providers and the components of the ECCD Framework system. The course-episode will specifically distinguish Center-based programs as against Home-based programs and its application during a Pandemic; the nature and kinds of ECCD service providers and finally, the components of the ECCD framework to include the significance of ECCD Curriculum, Parent Education, Human Resource Development and ECCD Management.
As a follow-up course-episode, this sequel seeks to illustrate to the learner (viewer) the features and substance of the actual programs that put into action the policies and objectives as presented in the initial course-episode. Furthermore, the main actors (service providers) that are essential in its realization are identified as well as the components that are connected or interrelated thereto.
- Intended Course-Episode Learning Outcomes:
- Recognize the difference/similarities and attributes of the two (2) ECCD programs and their level of impact on child protection and development and how such programs adapts during a period of Pandemic.
- Determine the various kind and competencies of ECCD service providers specially the role they play as “directly responsible for the care and education of young children” (letter b, Section 4, RA 11410).
- Comprehend the systems and processes of the ECCD System Framework and components including the implementing arrangements (with LGUs) and operational structures (ECCD Council & Secretariat) as provided in RA 10410.
- Course-Episode Relation to Rex’s Edukampyon principles and objectives:
As a practical course, Course-Episode 2 is founded on the ultimate objective of
Edukampyon which is for the development of the Filipino Whole Learner.
The Course is a real-life implementation of the ECCD policies and objectives identified in the previous course-episode. As such, the concepts and systems discussed during the initial course-episode are made clearer and its application is seen and felt in the several examplars.

This Course-Episode seeks to answer the following questions?
- What are the two (2) kinds of ECCD programs being implemented that involves the health, nutrition, early education and social services development of young children? (Letter a, Section 4, RA 11410)
- In the process of discussing the two (2) ECCD Programs (Home-Based and Center-Based) amplify on the following:
- Who are the ECCD Service Providers (letter b, Section 4); and
- What is the ECCD System framework and its corresponding components (Section 5), arrangements and operational structures (Sections 7,8 &9)?
- How does the ECCD Service Providers adapt in implementing both programs during a Pandemic?
